From the ER to Waiver Wire

King: Welcome back to Fantasy Island's Injury Waiver Wire Report. That's right guys, week one, you know, there's guys that go down, there's guys that are ready to be picked up. It's the best week, week two, to pick up guys on the waiver wire. You know, obviously if you had a bad week. You're right there in waiver wire preference order. So we're going to talk about the guys that went down and maybe some potential guys to pick them up. Some of the names that went down. We all know about Aaron Rogers, my man, JK Dobbins went down again, Andrews, Kelsey, and even a little guys popping up for the. The midweek game gain. Well, who had a big game and why don't you touch on those guys a little bit and what are their injuries? You know, what's Dobbins injury, man? Is he's done for the year, right? Bumbo.

Bombo: done for the year with an Achilles tear, a sad story. He can't seem to catch a break, constantly injured, uh, had the college pedigree to be a beast when he came into the league. He just hasn't had a chance. Hasn't stayed healthy. So if you roster Dobbins spent that fifth or sixth round pick on him, he's gone.

His in house replacement, good old Gus, the bus Edwards, you know, the organization likes him. He's doesn't fumble. He's a goal line back. He's a sure thing. Even though justice, he'll got a couple of. Goal line touchdowns when he came in for relief for JK Dobbins, uh, that's just because they needed to, they needed to just go with their game plan.

King: Even when JK Dobbins was in there in the mix, they were all, those three guys were getting the run. So I'm sort of with you, man.

I think that the waiver wire guys there, if you're going to do an in house. Waiver wire pickup, you know, is probably going to be Gus Edwards. Number one and justice Hill, just as he'll been waiting to break out a couple of years. I might probably even go with him. Cause guys said, we're some more popular guy, but are there guys off the team that you think you could pick up to replace that running back spot?

Bumbo

Bombo: Check your waiver wire. And if Kyron Williams is still available, I say, pick up Kyron Williams, uh, just because you can get a potential starting running back as the offensive identity shifts from Cam Akers to Kyron Williams. You can get a starting running back off the waiver wire right

King: you think him and you think

Bombo: Kyron Williams.

King: McVeigh and acres are going at it again this year, man. Or you think Kyron Williams

Bombo: I think, I think he's better right now. I think, I think Akers is the better athlete, but. But Kyron Williams is the better running back for

King: And definitely available in a lot of leagues still guys. So, you know, jump all over Kyron Williams. Cause I agree too. I think he's just more dynamic. He can do a lot more things. I, I, I like cam acres. I like his game, but he's. He's pretty solid at what he does between the tackles, but outside the tackles, Kyron Williams, I think really kicks his ass.

Another guy like in Tennessee is Tajay Sharp. You know, I pointed out this guy early in the season. I like him a lot. They were using them already and I think they don't want to wear out the King. So is that somebody you target on the waiver wire? There may be Bombo. What do you think about Tajay?

Bombo: Tajay Sharpe should already be owned by the King Henry owner. But if he's out there, definitely pick him up because they got him involved in the passing game. He had a screen pass go for about 30 yards that was called back for a holding, but he showed the speed. He showed the burst and he knows where his role is in the offense right now.

He's probably that third down, maybe two minute drill guy. All he needs is an opportunity. I think he's real explosive and he definitely should not be on a wave water. He should be on a

King: He should be, you know, it just depends on how much opportunities he gets, you know what I mean? And that's the thing, but. You know, going down that out list, obviously we talked about Aaron Rogers being out national news. Everybody knows about that, you know, but what about a guy's he could pick up on the waiver wire?

You know, a guy I talked in the preseason was Derek Carr, Derek Carr, New Orleans. And he looked pretty good the first week. He had a tough matchup, but he, he's slinging the ball and he's in command of that offense. You do you like him as a waiver wire pickup, or is there anybody else you're thinking about Bamba?

Bombo: So I like Derek Carr. I think I'll like him better when they have a running game that suits what their offensive identity is supposed to be. He was forcing a lot of balls into Michael Thomas, but that's what you want from your big body receiver. And I think that's, what's going to get Michael Thomas back into game shape.

I don't have any issues with this New Orleans offense. I think if you had Aaron Rodgers. And you have to pivot away and cars available. You definitely can pick them up. Mac Jones is definitely a guy I could pick up in this rejuvenated doing the offense, but I like how Matthew Stafford look, and I know that he's on a lot of waiver wires and maybe that's somebody that should be taking looks.

I know that people stayed away from when they got the news about Cooper cup, but it looks like there might be some weapons in LA for

King: Well, you know, there's so many quarterbacks on the waiver wire because all the names got taken with, you know, whatever the rankings were. But like you mentioned, Matt Stafford is not even rostered in 30 percent of ESPN leagues. Brock Purdy's not even rostered in 50 percent of ESPN leagues. Guys, there's a ton of quarterbacks out there that we're probably going to do at the end of the year, do better than Aaron Rodgers anyway. So you probably got lucky that he got smashed. Gino Smith's available in the league I'm looking at, but he's only rostered in 75 percent of the leagues. He's a starting quarterback. Brock Purdy, 50 percent guys. On a team that's probably going to make it to the NFC championship game. Like, hello, you know, I mean, like, I don't know, man, I'm just, there's plenty of guys out there to pick up on that waiver wire, you know, and talking about that waiver wire, Andrews, Kelsey, you know, we won't know till later on in the week and we'll throw some snippets out, you know, on the injury bug on Kelsey and Andrews and see where they are, but I think even in house, man, about Isaiah?

Likely on that, off that waiver wire. I'm sure a lot of teams, you know, a lot of guys don't haven't heard of him he definitely has potential. Was there any other guys on that waiver wire tight end wise that you could think about? Maybe these guys could pick up that did well in week one.

Bombo: I'm going to keep standing on the soap box and screaming until that ownership number goes up, but Sam Laporta in Detroit, so that Monday nighter, he didn't have really impressive numbers, but if you look beyond that, he was in there for.

Every passing situation. He was the number two targeted person behind Amon Ross St. Brown. He had five catches for about 40 yards, which is all right. But he was there in the goal line. There was a couple of passes to him. One was bad at down low and one where golf took a sack, but he was definitely opened in the end zone.

I think they're going to look at that tape. You're going to see a lot more of him going forward. I believe eight, nine points in PPR is his floor.

King: No, definitely. I like that guy. And there's other guys available. You know, the regular trash that's out there. Hunter Henry. He's my guy. Saki, you know, those guys will be available. But let me throw something about you about your boy, Sam Laporta. Okay. It was his debut. So that was his first game as a rookie. He had five targets for five catches, which means basically he caught everything they threw to him. Sure, it was only for 39 yards, but he finished third in the team in route participation, 72%. I know that number's in a vacuum, Bombo, and it's only one week, but that's huge for a fucking tight end. And considering that they're depleted, and all they got is Amon Ross ain't brown. I think you nailed that one, motherfucker. I like that guy. And the other tight end got a butt fumble or something, dude. So he's probably, they're

pissed off at him because he was running in motion and they snapped the ball. He like stuttered the ball hit him. And they fumbled the ball. And he actually lost a couple series, but I love LaPorta, man.

You nailed that guy. I think going forward, right, there's guys that are out there still on the waiver wire that we're looking at. That are even in ESPN's waiver wire that we're like, okay, why are these guys even there still? I mean, but I get it, but Tutu Atwell's available. He's the number one guy on the waiver wire and he's rostered in 15 percent of ESPN leagues. Jacoby Myers, Darnell Mooney, who didn't have a game, but Curtis Samuel had a decent game. 16 percent of rosters. There's a ton of guys out there that need to be picked up. You know, is there anybody else you can think of Bombo guys near and dear to you that you like to pick up or talk about at this point,

Bombo: I like the rookie Rasheed Rice out in Kansas City just based off of who didn't show up for them. No, Kelsey. Kadarius Tony was dropping everything that was thrown to him. Sky Moore looked lost out there. And then their other receivers are just real package receivers.

I think Rice really stepped up in that slot role, got open, and If he gains the trust of Patrick Mahomes, he could be in for the year that we thought Sky Moore was going to have, but I'm not ready to give up on Sky Moore just yet, but Rasheed Rice should definitely be on a

King: I think he's going to be part of that offense too. And he looked good and he looked apart in week one. I definitely like him going forward as maybe just like a fill in option, but I still think Skymore is going to be the guy there. I'm hoping that we put our nuts out there. So I want Skymore to be the one, but I think that's going to wrap up our injury and waiver wire for this week.

Bombo great job. We'll get at you guys next week and we'll give you guys a little bit of some snippets if we hear anything before Sunday's kickoffs. Thanks guys, see you next week.
